Integration
Works natively with CivicCA
SentraCaptions is built by the team behind CivicCA. CivicCA starts and pauses captioning for you as the meeting runs, and shows the captions on the CivicCA dais display, the public portal and residents' phones.
How it works
Captions follow the meeting
- Step 01
The clerk starts the meeting
When the meeting starts in CivicCA, captioning starts with it. There is nothing else to open or log in to.
- Step 02
Recess and closed session
When the clerk calls a recess or the board goes into closed session, CivicCA pauses captioning, and resumes it when the meeting is back in session.
- Step 03
After the meeting
Transcripts in every language are ready for the record, and subtitle files can go with the meeting video.
Why it matters
One system for the whole meeting
- Same screens
On the CivicCA dais display
Captions and translations appear on the CivicCA chamber display and public portal, next to the agenda item and the vote.
- Paused time isn't used
Minutes only while in session
Because CivicCA pauses captioning for recess and closed session, you only use minutes while the meeting is in session.
- One team
One point of contact
The same Fresno team builds and supports CivicCA and SentraCaptions.
Not using CivicCA?
Works with any platform
SentraCaptions doesn't require CivicCA. Other agenda, streaming and meeting-management platforms can connect through the API, and agencies can run the chamber screen and phone page on their own.
