SentraCaptions is made by Computer Systems Plus, Inc. (CSP), a family-owned Fresno technology company founded in 1990, and is part of CSP's family of public-sector products.
Why we built it
Every resident should be able to follow the meeting
Council and board meetings are where residents see their local government at work. People who are deaf or hard of hearing need captions to follow along, and many residents read Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Tagalog or another language better than English.
The ADA Title II web rule includes captions for live video (WCAG 2.1 Success Criterion 1.2.4), and finding a human captioner for every evening meeting, committee and commission is hard for a small clerk's office. We built SentraCaptions so any agency can caption and translate every public meeting, using the encoder it already streams with.
We already build CivicCA, which runs the meeting itself: the agenda, the dais and the chamber display. Captions belong in the same place, so SentraCaptions works natively with CivicCA and with any other platform through its API.

Three decades of keeping organizations running
CSP started in 1990 as a hardware and software reseller for businesses across the Central Valley. Over more than thirty years it grew into a full managed IT services provider: networks, workstations, security, backup and cloud, run by local technicians from the same office on North Fine Avenue in Fresno.
